Wikipedia:WikiLemon - I made this article and look what they think of it :(. Yeah, I know it isn’t notable but we’re the Illemonati, we can’t stand for this. |
Meh… let’s not disrupt Wikipedia. WikiLemon is not nearly notable enough to warrant its own article, if Lemon Demon itself doesn’t warrant its own. I’m going to nominate it for deletion now. (Partially just for the irony value, but I really don’t think it belongs in Wikipedia yet.) |

Wikilemon shouldn’t be on wikipedia… it’s a bizarre information twisty turn of reality… I don’t think ANY wikis should have a wikipedia article. it’s like…. wiki cannibalism… |
Why shouldn’t wikis have Wikipedia articles, if they’re notable? For example, WikiWikiWeb, which was the original wiki, predating Wikipedia by several years. The criterion for Wikipedia is noteworthiness, and I think such sites are certainly notable. |

Testing. Not to disturb old posts, but I’m trying to remove useless wanted pages kthxbai—Mattgcn 22:53, 16 October 2006 (EDT) |

Wikipedia doesn’t really like anybody…I’ve had about 2 articles deleted so far and one of them took me about 2 weeks to finish. |
What were the articles about? |
Bahaha I remember two times I made articles, about Aaron Ackerson and another about a band, and I nearly got banned apparently due to bad sourcing. Woot woot! |
One of the articles was on an old summer camp of mine. Enrollment was down last year so they wanted me to help somehow. I, in my infinite wisdom, thought of creating a Wikipedia page so if people were searching for camps, they could know more about the camp itself. After spending two weeks and finally finishing…the page got deleted. The second one was on a comic book character…forgot who |
They’re policy likely identifies a local camp to be non-notable, which is awfully contradictory given that nearly every high school football team has its own article. Wikipedia isn’t always consistent. |
Maybe their policies seem inconsistent sometimes, but I find that they’re at least pretty good at enforcing them consistently. Though you can never be sure simply because it’s different people participating in each debate, different administrators passing final judgment, etc. Still, there’s pretty much no policy-based decision on Wikipedia that can’t be appealed. Speaking of wiki and notability stuff, today I had a thought — in addition to WikiLemon, I’m also hosting The Sexiest Wiki On Earth and LoganUncleWiki, but those don’t get much activity, especially outside the Illemonati… so maybe I should start a wiki for indie/geek/comedyish bands in general, specifically ones that don’t have online fan-bases large enough to sustain wikis of their own. We could consolidate TSWOE and LUW into it, and include other bands too — Uncle Monsterface, Math The Band, et cetera, and of course any of our own little musical projects (at least ones that have released an album or two).
